My Top 5 Zero Sugar Fast Food Replacement Options That Helped Me Lose 23kgs in 4 Months.

Low Carb treats without the guilt (or Insulin Spikes) that helped me beat type 2 diabetes and normalise my ultra high blood pressure.

So this is a little off topic from the usual cloud computing and AI subjects I usually write about, but it might well be a regular addition to the posts here. We’ll see. But I’m guessing there are a few of you in the same boat.

A few years ago after 30 years of running my own businesses I took a business mentor contract with a local council. Part of the process involved a pre-employment medical.

It was the first time I had set foot in a doctors in 20+ years.

Long story short, it turned out I had undiagnosed Type 2 diabetes and blood pressure of 180/120.

I had no idea. No visible health issues, no symptoms, nothing, but I was carrying a fair amount of weight (123kgs to be exact) and by all accounts a walking heart attack waiting to happen.

The perils of a long career programming and not paying attention to my health.

Another long story short, I ended up cutting carbs and sugar which fixed my type 2 diabetes. As an added bonus 23kgs peeled off in just under 4 months and my blood pressure normalised.

Win.

But there are the odd times when some of the food options I had said goodbye to were calling me. Pizza, French Fries, Chocolate Cake, Brownies, Breakfast Waffles, all live rent free inside my head.

Now instead of losing the will to live, after a bit of research I uncovered some pretty decent replacements that don’t involve all the carb and sugar laden ingredients that got me in the shit in the first place.

Over the past month or so I got in front of my iPhone camera and shot a video showing how this kitchen sorcery is performed.

For that I am truly sorry.

So here are the 5 top dishes I make regularly when the fast food pangs or sweet tooth urge hits.
